My community project was such a success. I asked a young student from Langley Fine Arts high school to create the artwork plan and help me with pricing materials etc. We chose to set up in Fort Langley in July because there was an outdoor art painting contest that I knew we could enter the finished artwork into. We had so many people from our community come to try painting on the group canvas, including children, seniors and those who were reluctant to paint but felt encouraged because of the nature of the design ( small black lined spaces that didn’t feel overwhelming). We got to put it in the outdoor gallery and the painting won first place for the youth category! I got to meet so many different people and I felt it was an excellent way to bring our community together!
