The Creative Art Studio Project was and is being carried on as a program at the UNA. I am working in partnership with the youth program coordinator, Hannie Chia, since couple months before September 2024 (start of Creative Art Studio) to plan and promote the program as a part of UNA programs. The program has already spanned through 2 terms (Fall and winter season), with most of our participants are seniors, with a couple youths, and me and my team are extremely lucky to have wholesome experience with our senior participants. Many seniors enjoy their time in the safe space focusing on their art, developing their work, skills, and relationships with my team and other participants. A portion of our participants have been with us since the beginning of fall term, and we hope to continue having them with us in our program. Some seniors drop-in the program for a day, then have expressed interest in registering for the term as well. In the upcoming spring term, we have a new volunteer, a student from UBC, whom I have connected through Hannie, We’re very excited to have her with us. Average number of attendees mainly span from 5-10, and keeping the circle smaller allow us to connect better with our pre-existing group. Everyone in the program converse with each other and have gotten to know each other throughout the term. There are minimum 2 volunteers every week, including me and my friend, and 6 volunteers in total signed to our program.
