The Creston Community band has made an opportunity for our new conductor to teach some of our band members to play the timpani and other percussion instruments. Currently, our two featured percussionists are our oldest and youngest members, one is mid 80’s and the other one is 11 years old. Robin Clegg is also the principal timpanist in the Symphony of the Kootenays and has many credentials and experience to share. We have enjoyed many mentorship and learning opportunities he has provided us. There was a small honorarium that we gave in return for his skills and mentoring. The band members enjoy his direction and learning about music. Our band has also purchased new music for our upcoming concert. The new music will allow us to show off our newly learned skills and percussion equipment. This is a community event that is highly attended and loved by all. Thank you for this opportunity!
