Everyone was so surprised and excited by the fact that our application was approved.
After a few discussions with our neighbors, we agreed on a plan for the day and started into making arrangements. Don road has approx 40 residents, and almost all were able to make it on the day of the party. Games and chairs were setup right on the road! We based the party on the front lawn of our eldest neighbor who had just turned 89 the day before, and made sure we included a cake to celebrate her birthday!
Everyone chipped in for the cooking and providing side dishes, Dean’s home made burgers were a big hit. We enjoyed playing bean bag toss, ladder toss and croquet. The kids had fun hanging out and running around the front lawns of all the neighbors. It was an amazing day, considering how easy it was to apply for the grant. The etransfer showed up quite quickly and we were able to budget to ensure everyone had food and drinks.
Thank you very much, it was a huge success bringing everyone out on a beautiful day for the afternoon together.
