Our events both went really well 🙂
Easter Egg Hunt
Event happened on Sunday April 20, 2025 and went off without any issues. During the planning session, we were contemplating the time that we would start the event and how we would adapt to the situation should the weather not be on our side.” We decided when we sent out the posters (1 week before) that the event would take place rain or shine. Since we live in a co-op, we held the event in the playground area. The tweens /teens (aged 12-16 years old) took ownership for hiding all of the goodies and ensured that their hiding spots were “age-appropriate.” We ended up having some kids who were not a part of our coop join in on the fun, and thankfully, we did have more than enough goodies to go around for everyone. It was really great to see everyone was sharing with one another and regifting what they didn’t want or what their friends would like.
Spring Refresh Party
This event did not take place on the same day as the East Egg Hunt; however, it did go well the following Saturday, April 26, 2025. We had a lot of participants, and the turnout was pretty good. Our coop got a lot completed and ensured that we were ready for the Summer and for the seasons to come. We enjoyed a pizza lunch, and it was an opportunity for everyone in our coop to come together and help each other out.
We are very thankful for the grant that the Small Neighbourhood Grants Committee provided to us. Really appreciate this community, and we look forward to ensuring that our community members feel a sense of belonging and included.
