Hello,
On Saturday Aug 17th, 2019, Eid Al adha celebration was held at King George Park in RIchmond. The purpose of this big gathering is to get the community together and share a cultural event with all.
The event was a great success. we had around 240 kids attending the event coming from different places of Richmond and other cities. People were so happy to see the community together, celebrating together, learning about other cultures and just chatting with neighbours and community members while the kids were enjoying their time at the corn maze and bouncy castle as well as at all the games offered and crafts activities provided that day. Everyone also enjoyed the henna and facepainting corners. We also had an arabian night photo booth tent for people to take pictures inside. We did offer free candies, little toys and freezie to all kids who attended and got their games passport stamped by most of the stations.
The only thing that we learned from this event is that, for a big event like this one, we needed more hands to help, more volunteers. we had a big crowd of volunteers to help but was not enough. next time we should manage to get more people involved. other than that, everything went well and we are so happy that everyone enjoyed, we had people coming to thank us and say they just loved this and wanted to see more of it in Richmond.
Looking forward to our next year’s event .
Thank you for your support.
