On Aug 11, 2026, I hosted my Fake Wedding Cake Making seminar at an Amenity room at a friend’s Apartment.
There were 25 participants, and many had a hands-on experience making one large Wedding Cake and 2 miniature ones.
Due to the rental time restriction at the apartment, I had to prepare the Dummy foam cakes ahead of time at my place. I had spent about a week putting the drywall material on the foam cakes, smoothing them with icing knives, waiting for them to dry after 2 days, then smoothing the surface using sandpaper. A second coat of drywall was then applied, dried, and sanded with the same routine. The cake foams had to be smoothed out and painted to resemble real cakes. These foam cakes were then brought to the venue for the seminar after they had dried.
I had brought a lot of flowers and cake decorating materials for the cake-making seminar.
The seminar went really well, and everyone had fun making new friends and learning these new skills. Knowing how to make a Faux Wedding Cake will potentially save these friends and neighbours lots of money when their own children get married. Everyone appreciated my hard work putting this seminar together!
This seminar would not have been that successful without the help of NSG for funding me to get all the necessary materials for hosting the Faux Wedding Cake seminar. The balance of the funds was used to purchase ingredients for a potluck party afterwards. All our friends and neighbours had a good time enjoying the good food and friendship at this social and cake-making event. Many memorable photos were taken with the wedding cakes!
Thank you, NSG, for approving funding for making this memorable project a reality! Despite all the hard work and challenges I had, I also had fun and enjoyed the success of gathering friends and neighbours together! I will try my best to continuously conduct these community events in future years.
