Our event went very well. It turned out to be a cool but very sunny day. We had between 50-75 people attend. Lots of families and kids. Emma Todd brought her goat Bruce and chicken Wanda and spoke about urban farming and its benefits. She brought some fresh chicken eggs with her and talked about the benefits of having fresh eggs to use or sell. The usual challenges for this event were submitting applications to the City for event permits as well as planning for the weather. It was great to be able to bring in a presenter for the neighbourhood to enjoy and learn some new things, as well as connect with others and share skills and knowledge.
We look forward to being able to do a similar event in the future and will ask for feedback from the neighbourhood about what types of speakers they would like to see.
