This project was planned before the pandemic, in response to the need for accessible gardening space. Once Covid 19 hit, the positive affect was an increase in demand for garden plots. We began this project with the goal of providing a garden plot that would be suitable for aging and mobility challenged gardeners. It took two years, and two grants, but we finally completed the structure this summer. With the expert guidance of a long time member and a brand new eager member, we got it done. The cedar boards were quite costly, but this ‘three-high’ plot should last a decade or more! We are anticipating filling it with good garden soil in the Spring, and offering it to a new Gardener (or an existing garden member who is experiencing difficulties with a ground level plot).
