The project was a big success. A couple days before Halloween, we printed flyers and distributed them in the whole neighborhood i.e. Reid Street and adjoining Kings Ave. On the day of Halloween, we put up a table with hot chocolate, marshmallows and pretzels. Also, we set up a fire pit and some chairs. So, it was a great place for trick-or-treators to warm up. We had some kids say ‘I love you guys’ and ‘You are the best’. It allowed parents from the neighborhood to mingle and keep an eye on the kids to make sure they were being seen and were safe. Overall, we served over 150 cups of hot chocolate in 2 hours (6-8pm).
