There were three parts :
June 3 – panel of six professionals including a Doctor, Social Worker, Dietitian, City of Courtenay project manager for Neighbourhood connection projects. As a member of Elders Taking Action, I provided information at the ETA desk and took the microphone around the room for questions of the panelists.
June 6 – at my home following a garden tour in Valley Vista Estates, I hosted neighbours and friends for a garden gathering to discuss the importance of social connection for seniors and the importance of emergency preparedness. I handed out pamphlets and information on preparedness.
July 6 – I again hosted a group of seniors from the ETA group to discuss the above and again handed out information on emergency preparedness.
