In year two of this workshop, Salt Spring Island project leader Muneera Wallace, an Ayurvedic practitioner born in India, invited Della Rice Sylvester, an Indigenous medicine woman and knowledge-keeper, to lead a workshop on plant medicines. A potluck lunch was shared.
Muneera said, “We have so much to learn from our Indigenous hosts, and I believe that any chance to centre them and their knowledge is a gift to us, the settlers, and a way for us to move towards sustainable solutions for the future.”
