For many young people, choosing a career path can feel overwhelming. Societal expectations, combined with an education system that hasn’t changed much over the centuries, can leave hands-on learners at a disadvantage. Many people go their whole lives without ever picking up a power tool or experiencing the satisfaction of building something with their own hands. Without exposure, how can someone discover a passion they never knew they had?
Through engaging, hands-on experiences, they’re helping young people build confidence, explore career possibilities, and discover the rewarding world of the skilled trades.
This was a great experience for the kids in this camp.
For two days our campers had the opportunity to explore a variety of skilled trades, including electrical work, sheet metal, tile setting, and carpentry. One of the highlights of the camp was an unforgettable field trip to the College of New Caledonia, where participants toured the trades shops, met industry professionals, and gained an even greater appreciation for the exciting career opportunities available in the skilled trades.
