It was beautiful! The project we described in our application was to offer a daily call service to seniors who were stuck at home. However, the response was virtually nil. At the same time, we were aware that several people had recently lost partners or other loved ones, so we decided to send a comforting gift of flowers and a hand-made card of sympathy, love, and support from the community. Here’s one response we received via Facebook:
It was accompanied by this message: “I am very grateful to be thought of during this painful period. Bernie would have been pleased to be remembered & I thank you. The flowers are so beautiful.”
