Our project went well. It was challenging to find a weekend when the whole block would be in town, and in the end we missed a few households but it was a successful event. We set up tents and umbrellas on the neighbour’s front yard since as it was a very hot day. We have one couple on our block in their 90’s who have lived here since 1940. Many of the neighbours had never met them before so we gave them centre stage at the barbeque. We had young and old at the party and distributed leftovers to the neighbours and to the local food pantry. Everyone asked if we were going to do it again next year.
