I am excited to share the story of the Multicultural Health Fair on October 4th at South Vancouver Neighbourhood House. This event, made possible by the generous support of the Neighbourhood Small Grant, was a true reflection of how collaboration, engagement, and community empowerment can bring people together.
As the lead organizer, I had the honour of working alongside inspiring women from the Multicultural Women Peer Mentoring Group at South Vancouver Neighbourhood House. I would also like to thank Kwangyoung, who had a guiding role in helping us execute the event as well as encouraging us to engage more in community events like this.
Our shared goal was to promote health and wellness while building meaningful connections among women from different cultural backgrounds. Throughout the planning process, the enthusiasm and dedication of our participants were evident at every step.

The event was carefully organized with the help of four committees, each playing a critical role. The promo team designed vibrant posters and ensured broad outreach, generating excitement and encouraging participation. The activity team created engaging experiences, such as a therapeutic face mask workshop that combined fun with practical wellness learning. Meanwhile, the food team prepared a multicultural menu that celebrated our diversity through healthy, flavorful dishes. Lastly, the set-up and clean-up team took charge of logistics, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
Beyond organizing the fair, we gained valuable skills in project management, teamwork, communication, and leadership, boosting our confidence and sense of accomplishment. The journey leading up to the event has been as rewarding as the event itself, fostering lasting connections and empowering everyone involved! Thanks.
