My Husband and I started a Summertime Neighborhoods BBQ approximately 10 years ago, and at that time, we had friends who had a musical group entertaining us. We evolved over COVID to the event being on the street for continued socialization in a healthy way.
The success has come from planning early in the year to ensure we had ‘musicians’ available and neighbours who would plan their summers around the event. We have also kept it semi-small (although we have 20+ attending of all ages from 2-84), to ensure a healthy environment.
We have evolved into this amazing neighborhood of friends whom I now call extended family!! We also have a family who has moved away, however, continues to come to this event and has started their own event where they now live.
