Our Cultural Get-Together
The get-together was organized by Masuma Ghazi as a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come together, share their experiences, and celebrate the diversity of cultures represented in our community. A total of 35 adults and children attended the event, creating a warm, welcoming, and lively atmosphere.
During the gathering, everyone had the opportunity to talk about their culture, traditions, and favourite foods. Many people also shared stories about their immigration journeys to Canada, including their experiences of adapting to a new country, building new friendships, and maintaining connections with their cultural roots. These conversations helped everyone learn more about one another and appreciate the different experiences that brought people together.
One of the highlights of the event was the variety of food from different cultures. The organizer presented a selection of delicious dishes, giving everyone a chance to taste new flavours and learn about the traditions behind them. Sharing food made the gathering even more enjoyable and encouraged people to exchange recipes, stories, and memories.
A craft corner was also organized for both children and adults. Participants were taught how to make beautiful flowers using colourful pipe cleaners. Everyone enjoyed being creative and helping one another with the craft. The activity provided a fun way for families to spend time together, and many participants proudly took their handmade flowers home as a keepsake.
The event took place on a bright and sunny day, which added to the cheerful atmosphere. Children played and enjoyed themselves while adults had meaningful conversations and caught up with friends and neighbours. There was plenty of laughter, conversation, and sharing throughout the gathering.
Overall, the get-together was a memorable and enjoyable occasion.
