You’re invited to join us in the Nest, a public art installation designed byMarten Sims and Kim Cooper of the Design Nerds, for a series of conversations focused on life, our communities, and what moves us.
Imagine a stroll around Sen ákw (False Creek) and being invited to enter the Nest, beautifully situated at the Creekside Community Recreation Centre Garden. Origami paper cranes in a multitude of colours, each containing a question, decorate the interior structure of the Nest.
You’re invited to read the contents of an origami crane and share your thoughts in the circle. You can keep the crane you pick or you can release it back into the wilds of engagement, for a new guest to discover.
As you leave you’ll be handed a string with an option to make a wish and tie the string onto the Nest (this idea inspired by beautiful traditions in other parts of the world). If it comes true, you’re invited to return to remove a string.
