30+ participants living in East Van received kits with the same four seed varieties, basic growing information, and emails throughout the growing season with information on seed starting, plant care, and seed saving. There were some challenges: COVID (which meant preparing everything for mail out), extreme weather over the summer, and having to deliver everything more or less online.
As a first attempt at doing a One Seed One Community type project, we definitely learned a lot about what worked and what didn’t, how certain things could be done differently, and so on. We also received some great feedback from participants (and maybe got a few folks into seed saving).
