Thank you Community Foundation South Okanagan Similkameen and Vancouver Foundation for the Neighbourhood Small Grant we received for our Amazing Race and Music at Powell Beach, Summerland. We had over 100 neighbours attend the event!
We started the day with 10 teams of 8 that had to complete 14 challenges, solve riddles, learn about the history of Trout Creek, dance with a stranger, and other fun and crazy activities. Each team required a senior and a child to encourage multi-generation interactions. After the race, we listened to 2 live bands play indi-pop and blues.
We feasted on the most amazing potluck that truly represented local ingredients. This event represented the true spirit of community. We hope to do it again next year!
