Our first event went really well – a lovely intergenerational and multicultural group from Tara’s neighbourhood came to her home. One older lady could not speak any English, but it turned out that one of the other participants was able to speak Mandarin and translate for her. It was so much fun for us all to get to know each other – people we would never have met otherwise!
Everyone loved making the eco-friendly food wraps and healthy crackers so much we decided to repeat the exact same project (with all the materials we had left over) at my home the next week.
Again – a really diverse group of women came. Gathering around food and being creative together made it so easy for the conversation to flow, and soon strangers were sharing stories, finding commonalities, and laughing together around the table.
Thanks for joining us in our little project!

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
