On July 29th, 2017 the Multicultural Summer Picnic was held at the Mahon Park, North Vancouver. The event was participated by 80 residents comprised of children, youth, middle aged and seniors who were immigrants from such countries as Iran, China, Vietnam, Philippines, India, Russia, and a few locals. Volunteers helped out in putting up tents and decorating the venue, serving food, administering the games, taking photos, and welcoming the participants.
The kids had a lot of fun with the games and prizes, as well as the face painting prepared for them. The participants had a good time having their photos taken at the photo-booth complete with props. They all feasted on fruits, and Indian and Filipino food shared over stories from their respective countries and Latino music on the background. Participants expressed their gratitude and commented they had a great time at the picnic.
