In the summer of August 2022, we invited members of our neighbourhood outside for a beginner doubles Pickleball tournament. With 14 participants, we had 7 teams and had to find an outdoor space to accommodate us. The event had to be rescheduled several times to avoid conflict with the Richmond Pickleball Association training sessions and to evade the summer heat wave’s scorching temperatures.
In spite of these obstacles, we came together, enjoyed the weather and had a blast in the doubles Pickleball tournament! We couldn’t have done this without the help from the Neighbourhood Small Grant!
