The ‘Play with Words’ Crafternoon was part of Culture Days (www.culturedays.ca) and took place at the North Vancouver City Library. The upcycling workshop had participants create words, banners and garlands using repurposed materials like burlap, scrap fabric, cardboard and paint. We learned how to incorporate upcycled materials to create one-of-a-kind projects to be used as gifts, home decor items or fine art.
The upcycling workshops are free and give residents a chance to meet new people in an approachable and fun environment. Everyone left with a finished project, a new friend and an afternoon spent making nifty stuff out of ‘junk’!
For the full write up visit my blog, Thrifty By Design. Next Crafternoon is a Halloween Upcycling Workshop on October 25th.

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
