Our housing co-op (we call it a vertical community) celebrates twenty years in 2018. We are a vibrant, multi-cultural community of 99 families that includes those with disabilities, the elderly and people from all cultural backgrounds.
We used this grant money to throw a party to celebrate. It took the form of an afternoon, “backyard” BBQ held in our courtyard. We invited past members to participate as well, and had visitors from as far away as the Sunshine Coast.
The party consisted of a BBQ with burgers and lots of other treats, games for the kids which included a water fight and a slip & slide, a fun photo booth so our families could take photos together, and a beautiful cake made by one of our members.
