I did an outside movie night for our area, anyone could attend.
I purchased a projector and a sound system, we borrowed an inflatable screen, extension cord and generator. Breaking the noise of the generator was a bit of an issue, we ended up running quite a long extension cord and placing the generator behind a bush. Timing seemed to be the main issue. In the summer we tried but would have to wait till 9pm or later to start for enough darkness so we picked later in the summer. The date we chose, the sky was filled with smoke so we postponed. The first postponed night brought rain, that stuck around for days. We finally did it in November when it was dark by 7pm and there was a little snow and we had a bonfire, cooked hotdogs, had hot chocolate and watched The Christmas Chronicles. The smaller kids made and decorated cardboard boxes with cup holders to sit in. They were so cute with their cups and blankets.
I learnt there are some very nice people in our area. They have lived here for a while and just don’t get out. This event brought them out, and we all (and a new family) look forwards to the next outside movie night where we will watch The Christmas Chronicles 2.
