Pavement Art is a project born during the hard times of Covid 19. It was meant to fight boredom, chase off anxiety, and bring color to our lives through drawings.
Through this project, and thanks to Cedar Cottage, Frog Hollow and Kiwassa Neighbourhood Houses in Vancouver, I have invited people (at their windows and balconies, or just passing by) to interact with their neighbours, and to express their creativity; either by giving me directions and ideas, or by join in (at a safe distance).
Many have participated, triggering smiles, fostering creativity, and successfully brightened people’s lives by helping them focus on possibilities, as small as they are.
Chalk has washed away with rain. Smiles have remained.
