We wanted to do a Poetry Show that everyone would enjoy. We thought we would work with Matteo’s Gelato owner, Matt, to make this possible. Everyone who attended received a free gelato or coffee. We have learned that people love poetry, and with gelato as an incentive we made it happen! The weather was wonderful and we wound up with quite a crowd. Thank you to Neighborhood Small Grants, we appreciate the assistance for this wonderful event.
Poetry on the Hill: “The Mother’s Day Show 2025”
Monday, May 5, 2025
The weather was a nice and sunny Spring day. There were 19 people in attendance at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Coquitlam. The Show was supported by a grant from Neighborhood Small Grants. The doors opened at 6:45pm. There was the guest book table, the Storybook Game, a prize table, and the Treat table for after the Show. Mark played some great music on his guitar, while the audience waited for the Show to start. The Show went from 7-8pm. There were some jokes, an interactive poem (always a hit), a free draw, and lots of great poetry. The Show was fun, and everyone received a carnation in honor of Mother’s Day.
Some comments from our audience are:
“Keep up your good work!” – Candace
“Always Enjoyable!” – Louise
