This event wasn’t without it’s challenges, but the end result was a fantastic event that was well supported by the community. A group of enthusiastic individuals worked together with local businesses and organizations to celebrate love with a night around the campfire in a downtown park, free pizza and hot drinks.
We put together a list of local LGTBQIA2S+ services and resources to give out to the public, and local service organizations attended to provide information to individuals attending the event.
Everyone who attended was welcome to get a hot drink to enjoy around the campfire and go home with a pizza dinner. The library put together a display of LGTBQIA2S+ informative books, movies and activities for attendees to take home to enjoy with their pizza.
Over 100 participated in Chase’s first Pride celebration, and thanks to funding from a Small Neighborhood Grant and generosity of local supporters everything was completely free and accessible.
