Our annual Block Party was a great success again. Under a warm September sun well over 200 neighbours met and shared a yummy pot luck dinner. The kids took over the pavement with delight and were busy jumping in a neighbour’s bouncy castle, having their faces painted and staging a dance party. Cheryl took a commanding lead in the egg and spoon race, and Mitchel and Abbigail won the covetted ‘jelly bean’ counts. It all ended with a visit from the Vancouver Fire Department and an epic water gun battle, with many soaked children.
Many thanks to the NSG! We have had many new people move into our neighbourhood this year and the block party is a wonderful way of meeting people and creating community and neighbourhood identity.
