This project was great success in that it raised awareness of pollinator and habitat wellbeing in Revelstoke through a radio show, community workshop and school visits.

More than 12 new pollinator gardens were established both large and small that means that Revelstoke now qualifies as an official ‘Butterfly Way’ where butterflies can live, reproduce and migrate through this area with guaranteed resources.

The adult workshop attracted 12 participants who each received native pollinator seeds courtesy of Revelstoke Rotary, we were able to engage a professional biologist and habitat specialist to deliver this workshop and they also helped design the small educational butterfly garden. 500 school children were given native pollinator seeds. The funds from NSG also contributed to adding pollinator plants to 2 Revelstoke school gardens.

This was a lovely good news story where all involved saw the good that came out!
