The South End Eco Development (SEED) co-operative built a notice board, as a way to build community in our neighbourhood. We wanted to reach neighbours offline, and provide a shared space for our community to post whatever was important to them! With help from the Neighbourhood Small Grant and the Nanaimo Foundation, our notice board went up in summer 2024. Since then, there have been posters from new small businesses in our neighbourhood, kid’s art, work party notices, lost and found items, and much more. It’s a feature in one of our food forests, located just adjacent to a pedestrian thoroughfare, and it’s known as a landmark in our neighbourhood. Thank you for the support!
