Kamloops Ambassador Society Cheer Bags
We have often participated in events held at senior’s centres and the desire has always been, to connect with those residents who may not have family support, or regular visitors.
We were thrilled to be able to participate in a Tea Party that we co-hosted with Overlander Long Term Care Centre. We put together cheer bags filled with goodies for the residents in attendance. We discovered during the planning process, that one of the residents had participated in the Ambassador Program back in 1953!!! It then turned into a tea party in her honour! Alumni were invited, we had mementos and photos and everyone enjoyed hearing about resident Eileen’s experience! We had a photo area set up with our current Ambassador Team and other program alumni that attended that the residents loved! Photos were taken and then printed for residents to have in their rooms. In the New Year, we will be planning more visits to spend some time with residents. We’re looking forward to socializing and learning more about our Kamloops seniors. We hope to continue our youth/senior relationships with the Overlander Care Centre.
