We had an excellent turnout for two weeks of virtual summer camps held using the Zoom meeting format. Three of us hosted the camp each day, which allowed one person to lead the group and two people to support participants. We had a total of 16 participants during the two-week camps.
The focus of our camps was using technology creatively versus the passive consumption of technology. Each website or activity that we explored was chosen for it’s ability to engage or challenge the participants and encourage creativity when online.
Both weeks we explored websites and created activities that focused on the following areas:
Monday – Online Digital Music Exploration
Tuesday – Mapping, Geography, and Wiki Jumping
Wednesday – Online Logic and Puzzles
Thursday – Online Digital Art Day
We are so grateful for the support of the Vancouver Foundation Neighborhood Small Grant program in making these virtual camps possible.
