Social emotional and ethical learning.
My project is about social, emotional, and ethical learning and we focus on different topics with an activity for every topic we did to help participants learn. We worked with two groups, parents and children, with some kids doing their activity alongside adults. We did lots of activities aimed at ensuring the parents and children know the importance of interdependence. We are all connected, and interdependence is an important part of social & emotional learning.
We learned how connected we are with each other and Parents and a few students and volunteer teachers were involved in this workshop. Some kids wrote in their own language if that was more comfortable.
We can repeat some of the reflections with different everyday objects. Challenge yourself to consider the many ways that we are connected to others. Notice if thinking about this leads to a feeling of gratitude, or a feeling of connectedness with others. In this new world where internet and social media dominate people’s social lives and connectedness. We can decrease isolation by feeling thankful to each other .
