At the start of the warmer months, we (myself, my 11 year-old son and his friend) began to construct the free library from upcycled wood materials. After we built it, then we installed it and had a launch party with food and drinks. All the neighbours were invited to stop by, grab a snack and a book or game, and chat. It allowed us to re-connect with known neighbours after the colder days of winter and to meet a few new neighbours.
