“Building communities one block at a time”
The event was a great success! 8 families took on the role to organize – successfully securing the support of 20 local businesses of donations of food, drinks & door prizes, inviting local police & fire fighters (who happily partook in the event), the organization of potluck lunch, live music, games, face painting & so much more.
More than 150 people came and they had lot of fun getting to know their neighbours. It was so great to see the first ever Spruce Street Block Party where multicultural and multigenerational neighbours got together and started building a strong community. All the neighbours were very happy about the block party and want to continue it as an annual tradition. After the block party more and more interactions started happening between neighbours.
