We had our spring cleaning/garden block party [in May 2022] and it was such a great success. Excellent turnout, amazing weather, and so much positive energy! People kept saying “we’ve been talking about doing this for YEARS”. We shared with everyone about the NSG program and they all thought it was amazing, I even wrote it down for the driver of the ice cream truck we rented so he could look into a community project for his street.
We spent the afternoon swapping seeds and seedlings, running an interactive music station supplied by Community Drums, a silk screening station, BBQ'd, and organized a spring cleaning free pile. Everyone walked away with things to add to their gardens, new treasures, new acquaintances, and giant smiles.
