The outdoor movie night on July 24 at Taylor Park was a success! With the amazing weather, an estimated number of 250 people have attended the pre-movie activities (7:30 pm- 9:00 pm) and the movie night (9:15 pm – 10:45 pm).
This is truly a neighborhood event that engages support from different parties of the neighborhood. Neighborhood Small Grant provided us a grant to start the process. One of a local supermarkets gave us a donation of freezies. Taylor Park Elementary helped us advertise the event and did a freezie sale to raise more fund. The Green Strata granted us fund to pay for the movie rental. A group of Taylor Park students put in a lot of their time and effort, from designing a variety of games to making creative stickers and ninjas origami stars as prizes, from selecting the movie to hosting the stations. Our face painting trio and glow-in-the-dark tattoo table attracted a line up from the beginning until the movie started. A dozen of parents help out with the setup and cleanup after.
Without the support of Neighborhood Small Grant, this won’t be possible. Thank you for making it happen. I have attached a short video to share the event with you.
