Thanks to this grant I was able to create 34 planters to gift to volunteers in Terrace and the surrounding area. I painted each planter with hearts, filled the planters with flowers (some that I grew from seed, some bulbs, and some already started plants), and found volunteers to adopt the planters via social media. The only requirement I had for the volunteers was that the planters needed to be displayed somewhere that neighbours or anyone passing by could see and enjoy. My kids helped make the planters and were overjoyed whenever they spotted them around town. I worried that the plants wouldn’t bloom as we had such a cool summer but the planters I saw looked beautiful. I hope the flowers truly brought some cheer to our community.
