We would like to thank the “Neighbourhood Small Grants” program for approving this project and making our little neighbourhood more connected than ever!
The idea was intended to bring our little community together safely: we have a small court with lots of families, where emergency crews or online delivery drivers are often searching for individual houses
– and in the dark, some of our house numbers can be difficult to see from the road…
My family donated one beautiful acacia wood slab for every house in our neighborhood, and my strong teenage boys helped me move and prepare the heavy slabs for drilling.
The grant funding allowed us to purchase all the house numbers, paint them with reflective paint, and illuminate each one with individual solar-powered lights.
I built one of these signs for each household on Kunimoto Court, and my boys helped me deliver them. ☺️
During a time when we all had to stay apart physically for the health of our neighbourhood, our little Kunimoto community now feels even a little more ‘connected’ than before…
Thank you,
