At the beginning of August 2020, Love to Dance Academy students could audition to be included in the Performance Group. During September and October, the Love to Dance Performance group brought the joy of dance to the senior centres in Merritt and also performed in a driveway, parking lot and in front of Save on Foods and Pet Value and in the Baillie House garden, bringing smiles to many faces.
Being part of the performance group was a positive growing experience. Students learned and performed five dances and had to quickly adapt to the different dance surfaces and interesting dressing room situations. Both dance teachers, Lizette and Vanessa, enjoyed working with these dedicated dancers and their supportive parents.
The Love to Dance Performance group will do their last performances of this session at the Civic on November 28, Covid-19 permitting. Auditions for the next session will be in January 2021.
