In 2024, we were blessed with the opportunity to host the Soul sessions as part of the Halfmoon Bay Art Wheel Showcase at our beloved community hall. Building on this success and the feedback from the community, it only made sense to do it again.
In October of this year, we were so pleased to host the fabulous Orchid Orchestra. The ability to offer this free concert with a band highlighting themes of inclusiveness, vulnerability and community was a great fit. We were so grateful for the NSG opportunity to be able to pay the bands travel from Vancouver and share this most excellent and intimate opportunity with our Sunshine Coast Community. While some bands don’t want to play for free (even from an optics perspective) when I proposed supporting their show with the NSG and what it could bring for ensuring anyone could attend regardless of finances, they were all in. The crowd was diverse. Music bring people together. Free music is one of the greatest gifts that we can offer people. We hope to be able to do one free concert offering every year.
