This is my first Neighbourhood Small Grant project. The Tiny Shed is a little free library that was inspired by my tiny human. In it, children can find seeds, small plants, and exchange small natural treasures (such as painted rocks), as well as books pertaining to gardening and the outdoors. The purpose of this project is to foster their curiosity about the natural world around them, and contribute to a sense of community.
The shed itself was constructed by a local student as part of their woodworking class. She did an amazing job. I then created the logo and decal, and visited local businesses to purchase items for the shed (such as seeds), and to make connections that will hopefully assist me in maintaining it. This is an ongoing project and I look forward to seeing how it unfolds 🙂
