Thank you to the Neighbourhood Small Grant, on September 24, we had 10 people attending our free yoga class in the little village of Trout Lake. The class was facilitated by Kristi Williamson, owner and operator of Koots Root Yoga studio in Nakusp. My daughter prepared the poster that was placed on social media at least one month beforehand.

This idea came from our fitness classes that usually run in the winter months at the same location, the Trout Lake Community Club Hall. A friend/neighbour runs the weekly classes that are open to everyone in the area. She has always said that she loves to attend classes lead by others and I wanted to organize something as a thank you to her for leading great fitness classes for free. She was able to attend the yoga class and was very excited.

One of my challenges was to keep track of the registration and trying to make sure not to have too many participants. As you can see on the photos, our Hall is small and I know during fitness classes sometimes I find myself feeling a bit crowded. However, everything worked out just fine. 10 is a comfortable number and that’s just what we got, plus one, our yoga instructor extraordinaire Kristi.

Having a small Hall limits us to having small classes of attendees, we would really like to offer more classes down the road so more people can participate and benefit from a good flow yoga. Looking forward to working with you again.
