I worked with the Galiano Community School and had pottery classes with the grades 4-7 students. They made coil pots. We were originally thinking of a mural but the teacher explained to me that they do a lot of drawing because it’s accessible and access to pottery is very difficult as well as expensive. I have a kiln on the island so I could fire and glaze their work. The kids loved it. Some made Father’s Day mugs. They were so proud of their work. I hope to return in the fall for the younger grades to participate.
