Thank you Neighbourhood Small Grants for supporting the 2024 season of Revelstoke’s Bikes, Beers, & Babes!
We had another successful year of weekly Tuesday night ladies mountain bike rides. With 20 rides and 80 individual riders, plus one collaboration with a local Peppermint Cycling ambassador & Skookum Cycling. We also organized a special event Sunday ride at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, with prizes for all attendees donated from 3 local bike shops: Skookum, Tantrum & Cycle Logic, as well as Mt Begbie Brewing Co.
This year we used this grant to purchase 4 personal sized mountain adventure first aid kits, which were carried on each ride by lead riders for attendees to use if/when required. We also continued to use the bike lights purchased with this grant last year during spring and fall rides when it gets dark earlier.
The majority of the grant helped us to host an end of season appreciation party, it was so lovely to get the ladies together to celebrate and reminisce on a wonderful summer of biking.
All of these items continue to help Bikes, Beers and Babes foster the growth of women’s mountain biking in Revelstoke, with the added bonus of the formation of friendships, with a sense of community spirit.
