It was a resounding success bringing together 40 participants, including instructors and enthusiasts, for an afternoon of dance and music performances and interactive learning. The event created a profound sense of belonging and collective joy.
The event was structured into 2 parts:
- Cultural showcase – Instructors showcased a diverse range of dance styles, including Middle-Eastern Belly Dance, Chinese Dai Dance, Brunei-Malaysian Dance, Jazz Dance and live music band. It highlighted the cultural richness within our neighbourhood
- Interactive session – Instructors led a series of beginner-friendly tutorials. This allowed everyone to actively experience the joy of each dance style firsthand, to connect with one another through movement.
We successfully fostered inclusivity and cross-cultural understanding. “Move as ONE” acted as a bridge between cultures and people, while having fun dancing and partying, it reminded us that we are all part of one community.
