We hosted our Argenta Yuletide Market on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Argenta Community Hall. We had several volunteers help organize the event, decorate the hall, and welcome folks as they arrived. The Argenta Community Workshop was there to help kids make paper lanterns and to lead a lantern walk in the early evening. Local vendors filled the hall, a local baker served hot food, and live musicians performed for us!

This group of volunteers has worked together to run events for several years now, and we have a system that works quite well for us. One of us is in charge of organizing the vendors—doing all the advertising and communication leading up to the event. We meet the day before to decorate the hall, which is usually a very full day. This year it took eight hours! But we had music and snacks, so it went quite smoothly. During the event, we have a lead volunteer helping to troubleshoot. Luckily, we didn’t have much trouble this year. Cleanup is always quick, as many community members stick around afterward to help.

We love the opportunity to come together as a community in Argenta. We’re pretty rural and remote, and these types of events help us stay connected, strengthen relationships, and spread good cheer. Thank you!
